Forever Now is the 10th studio album released by British pop musical group Level 42, released in March 1994. There were two releases of the album with different track-listings and cover art. The first release in 1994 on RCA Records has 11 tracks. In 1996, the album was re-issued by the label Resurgence, with 15 tracks including six additional tracks, but without the songs "Tired Of Waiting" and "All Over You". Also, some of the songs on this version varied in length from those on the RCA release, and the track "Billy's Gone" was completely remixed. The Resurgence album was re-released in 2009 by the label Edsel, as a double CD, bringing "Tired Of Waiting" and "All Over You" back to the track-listing again, and also adding extended remixes of "All Over You", "Forever Now", "Learn To Say No" and "Love In A Peaceful World". The sleeve notes for the reissue state that the Resurgence version of the album contained the original intended track- listing.[6] It was the final album release for Level 42 before their original break-up, and was their only album of the 90s to feature the participation of three original members: Mark King, Mike Lindup and Phil Gould. Level 42 released a new album in 2006, named Retroglide, with King, Lindup and Gary Husband and a small participation by Boon Gould. Phil Gould, dismayed at what he felt was the record company's ineptitude, did not go on the road with the band on their Forever Now tour. He was replaced for the tour with live session drummer Gavin Harrison, and Jakko Jakszyk rejoined on guitar. Forever Now is Level 42's best album since the mid-80s heyday of World Machine and Running in the Family. After a two-album hiatus, drummer Phil Gould returned to the band on what would become its final studio release. The jazzy, horn-drenched title track is the highlight, but there are many solid cuts here, including "Learn to Say No" and the Hall & Oates sound-alike "Love in a Peaceful World" — William Cooper, Allmusic Three singles were issued from the album: "Forever Now", "All Over You" and "Love in a Peaceful World" - all of these reached the Top 40. ---- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and HIT THAT BELL! "Last Train Home" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter John Mayer, and featured uncredited guest vocals from American country singer Maren Morris.[1] It was released on June 4, 2021 as the fourth single from his eighth studio album Sob Rock. John Mayer wrote the song and produced it with Don Was. The song is Mayer's first new release in nearly two years since "Carry Me Away" (2019).[2] The song was used in the first season of the TV show The Bear. John Mayer began teasing his new album with a series of TikTok videos that previewed new songs. The first song clip was Last Train Home, which Mayer soon followed up with a Wild Blue teaser. Mayer released Last Train Home on June 4, 2021, and announced that Sob Rock would be releasing on July 16 of the same year. On release day, Mayer shared four-track song lists, and he made "Last Train Home" as the lead single to released, and expressed it is "a slick rock production with an '80s polish, filled with keyboard stabs that remind of Toto, and guitar licks galore."[3] In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Mayer explained the reason of the song '80s elements: "I asked myself, 'What music makes me feel like everything's going to be OK? John Mayer / Last Train Home
Michael David Lindup (born 17 March 1959) is an English musician known as the keyboard player and falsetto-voiced singer who joined Mark King and brothers Phil and Boon Gould to form the British jazz-funk/pop rock band Level 42. Lindup was born in London, England. He attended Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, where he studied piano, percussion and composition, and sang in senior and chamber choirs, later graduating to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. There, his musical experience spread to include playing orchestral percussion in concert at the Royal Festival and Albert Halls, drums and keyboards in jazz ensembles and participating in pop workshops. Philip Gabriel Gould (born 28 February 1957) is a British drummer, songwriter and singer from the Isle of Wight in southern England. He founded the band Level 42 with Mark King. Gould was born in Hong Kong, and studied percussion at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he met keyboardist Mike Lindup. Gould's first foray into the charts came with pop group M, drumming on their single "Pop Muzik", a number one single in the United States, and No. 2 hit in the UK. Gould also appeared on Top of the Pops with Roxy Music for their performance of "More Than This" and also in their promo video for this song.[citation needed] Together with Mike Lindup, Mark King and Gould's guitarist brother Boon, he formed Level 42 and had several major hits, writing many of the lyrics and co-writing many songs. Their biggest selling albums were World Machine and Running in the Family. In 1987, the Gould brothers left Level 42, Phil citing nervous exhaustion and being unhappy with their new pop sound. Gould became a respected session musician.[citation needed] Gould briefly returned as a studio drummer and principal lyricist on 1994's Forever Now album. However, dismayed by the record company's incompetence, he did not go on the road with the band for their Forever Now tour, and was quickly replaced as a live drummer by Gavin Harrison.[1] In 2007, Gould contributed to the debut album Escapizm by Italian singer Diana Winter, co-writing and producing the tracks "Rain" and "Dream Alone", and playing drums. In 2009, Gould released his first solo album Watertight on the Bongo Saloon label. The album features contributions from Mike Lindup, Wally Badarou and Berenice Scott. In January 2009, Gould finally released the album Terraforming under the group name of Gould, Brown and Black. The album was initially made available via iTunes with a view to a CD release later in the year. In November 2013, Gould was busy with The-Bongo-Saloon project.[citation needed] In 2021, Gould released the album Beautiful Wounds on Abbey Records, which includes contributions from singers Diana Winter, Keira Osment, Anji Hinke and Allison Mareek. Retroglide is the eleventh studio album by English jazz-funk band Level 42. It was released 12 years after their previous album and reached the UK Top 80. It is a mix of electronica with Level 42's traditional blend of funk and pop. The album is notable for featuring songs written by Boon Gould, the band's original guitarist (whose guitar is featured on "Ship") and bassist/vocalist Mark King. The album cover was designed by Alan Brooks who previously created the sleeves for the 1983 singles of "The Chinese Way" and "Out of Sight, Out of Mind". "Higher Power" is a song by British rock band Coldplay from their ninth studio album Music of the Spheres.[2][3] It was released on 7 May 2021 as the lead single, being written by the band's four members, Federico Vindver and Denise Carite, while production was handled by Max Martin.[4] Oscar Holter and Bill Rahko also helped to co-produce the song,[5] which received generally positive reviews from music critics and was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. During an interview with Mark Savage of BBC News, lead vocalist Chris Martin, said that the song just dropped out the sky: "I came up with the title first, but struggled to find the melody and lyrics to go with it. Then one day I was staying in this place and the sink was very resonant.
